On the regional front of BARC data in week 49 (December 05-11 2015), the top spot achievers across all the regional channels remained same. ETV Telugu, Star Jalsha, Asianet, Bhojpuri Cinema, Colors Kannada continued the winning streak in their respective markets of Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, Bengal, Kerala, Bihar and Jharkhand and Karnataka.
Among the Telugu channels (Andhra Pradesh/Telangana markets C&S 1lakh+),ETV Telugu remained the no.1 channel, though it witnessed a decline in the ratings from 439 million last week to 420 million this week. Zee Telugu replaced Maa TV to be the second best channel of the region with 340 million ratings. Maa TV, with declined ratings of 339 million this week slipped down to No.3. At No.4 stood Gemini TV with 255 million ratings, less than last week’s 269 million.
Star Jalsha remained at No.1 with 228 million ratings, less than last week’s 242 million ratings. Zee Bangla with increased ratings of 162 million acquired No.2 spot. Colors Bangla, at No.4, earned 37 million ratings. The fifth spot went to Zee Bangla Cinema which earned 31 million ratings.
In the Bihar and Jharkhand market, all the channels saw a decline in the ratings. Bhojpuri Cinema retained its No.1 position with 20 million ratings, less than last week’s 24 million. Big Magic Ganga with 17 million ratings acquired No.2 spot, its ratings were 22 million in week 48. Dangal TV was at No.3 with 9 million ratings which were 11 million last week.
In the Karnataka market, Colors Kannada retained the No.1 spot but saw a decline in the ratings from 307 million last week to 302 million this week. Suvarna upped one step by acquiring the No.2 spot this week with 141 million ratings, though it were less than last week’s 146 million. Udaya Movies slipped to No.3 as it saw decline in the ratings from 150 million last week to 130 million in week 49. Zee Kannada also witnessed a decline in the ratings from 127 million to 125 million this week and remained at No.4.
Asianet continued to be the no.1 channel in the Kerala market in week 49 but witnessed a decline in ratings from 405 million to 376 million. Mazhavil Manorama remained at No.2 this week also with 99 million ratings, less than last week’s 103 million. Surya TV with significant rise in the ratings from 62 million to 80 million this week leaped to the No.3 spot. The channel replaced last week’s No.3 Flowers TV which earned 68 million ratings. Asianet Movies stood at No.5 with 53 million ratings.
Among the Marathi channels (Maharashtra/Goa markets C&S 1lakh+), Zee Marathi remained at No.1 with 145 million ratings followed by Colors Marathi with 80 million ratings. Zee Talkies stood at No.3 with further decline in its ratings from 70 million last week to 57 million. Star Pravah remained at No.4 this week with ratings that declined from 52 million to 41 million this week.
Among the Odia channels, Sarthak TV remained at No.1 with a rise in ratings from 100 million to 113 million in week 49 followed by Tarang TV with 58 million ratings. Colors Oriya remained at No.3 with 20 million ratings, more than last week’s 18 million.
