BARC Ratings: Bangla News grows by 64% during 1st phase of voting

In week 14 (2-8 April, 2016) of the BARC Ratings, The Bangla News  and Assamese News saw a distinct hike in the ratings during 1st phase of voting. Also, the telecast of Hero I League 2015-16, East Bengal v/s Mohun Bagan benefitted Ten Sports 2. The opening ceremony of Vivo IPL 2016 increased viewership for Sony Channels.

Bangla News grew by 64 per cent during 1st phase of voting on Monday. It grew from 9602 in week 13 to 15764 in week 14.

Also, Assamese News grew by 56 per cent during 1st phase of voting. The ratings grew from 4877 in week 13 to 7603 in week 14.

The telecast of Hero I League 2015-16 Live - East Bengal v/s Mohun Bagan on Saturday  from16:25 - 18:28 on Ten Sports 2  took the slot up by 61 times. The ratings of the slot went up from 4 in week 13 to 235 in week 14.

Among the Hindi GECs, Star Plus maintained its lead across all channels.

Colors remained at No.2. Although, the finale of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ on Saturday and Sunday at 21:00-22:02 took the slot up by 23 per cent and 24 per cent respectively. On Saturday, the slot saw a hike from 4742 in week 13 to 5847 in week 14. And, on Sunday the slot witnessed a hike in ratings from 3878 in week 13 to 4796 in week 14.

The opening ceremony of Sony Vivo IPL 2016 improved viewership for the Sony channels.  Sony Six saw a hike from 170 in week 13 to 1,038 in week 14. Whereas, Sony ESPN saw a rise in the ratings from 22 in week 13 to 147 in week 14. Also, Sony Max gained from 2,304 in week 13 to 4,671 in week 14.
