BARC ratings: Bangla channels rise; Bhojpuri market sees decline in week 38

In week 38 (September 19 – 25, 2015) the regional ratings of BARC the Bangla market saw a rise in ratings this week, while the Bhojpuri channels saw a dip in their ratings. In the Telugu market Maa TV climbed to No.2 spot this week from No.3 last week, while ETV Telugu rose to take up No.3 spot. In the Kannada market Zee Kannada climbed to No.2 spot while Udaya TV slipped to No.3. Among the top Malayalam channels Flowers TV rose to No.3 spot.  

Among the Tamil channels (Tamil/Puducherry markets C&S 1Lakh+) Sun TV’s ratings grew marginally to 305 million this week from 300 million last week. It was followed by KTV at No.2 spot with ratings declining to 85 million this week from 92 million last week. Star Vijay was at No.3 saw its ratings declining to 73 million from 79 million last week.

Among the Marathi channels (Maharashtra/Goa markets C&S 1lakh+), Zee Marathi was on top with ratings increasing marginally to 63 million this week from 62 million last week. Colors Marathi at No.2 spot saw its ratings decline to 29 million from 35 million last week, followed by Zee Talkies with a decline to 24 million from 27 million in week 37.

Among the Telugu channels (Andhra Pradesh/Telangana markets C&S 1lakh+), Zee Telugu was on top with a rise in ratings to 141 million this week from 137 million last week. Maa TV rose to No.2 spot despite a decline in ratings to 114 million this week from 126 million in week 37. ETV Telugu rose to No.3 spot with ratings of 112 million.

Among the Kannada channels (Karnataka market C&S 1lakh+), Colors Kannada was on top spot in week 38 with decline in ratings to 74 million from 78 million last week. Zee Kannada climbed to No.2 saw a rise in ratings to 51 million from 44 million last week. Udaya TV slipped to No.3 spot with a large decline in ratings to 40 million in week 37 from 52 million last week.

Among the Bhojpuri channels (Bihar and Jharkhand market C&S 1lakh+), Big Ganga had its ratings decline to 5,450 (‘000’s) in week 38 from 6,247 (‘000’s) last week. ETV Bihar Jharkhand was at No.2 spot with a decrease in its ratings to 1,658 (‘000’s) this week from 1,909 (‘000’s) last week. Dangal TV was at No.3 with ratings of 1,535 (‘000’s) this week from 1,354  (‘000’s) last week.

Asianet in the Malayalam channels (Kerala market C&S 1lakh+) was on top with a rise in ratings to 178 million this week from 168 million last week. Mazhavil Manorama was at No.2 spot with ratings declining to 53 million this week from 58 million last week. Flowers TV took No.3 spot with ratings of 35 million in week 38.

Among the Bangla channels (West Bengal C&S 1lakh+) Star Jalsha was on top with ratings increasing to 83 million this week from 79 million last week. Zee Bangla came in next with its ratings increasing to 70 million from 68 million last week and was followed by Jalsha Movies at No.3 with its ratings increasing to 16 million this week from 14 million last week.
