BARC Ratings:  Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’s premier takes Star Gold’s 13.00-16.15 slot up by 13 times in week 7

In week 7 (13-19 February, 2016) of the BARC Ratings, entertainment channels like Star Gold, HBO, Romedy Now, Kairali TV and Star World saw hike in the ratings as the premier of shows on these channels saw a rise in different days of the week.

The world television premier of the movie ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ on Star Gold took Sunday’s 13.00-16.15 slot up by 13 times. The channel garnered 25119 ratings in week 7. Past 13 weeks average ratings of the channel were 1963.

Premiere of ‘Game Of Thrones Season 1’ on Star World took the 22:00 – 22:30 slot ,from Tuesday to Friday,  up by 10 times. The channel had 9.75 ratings in week 6 which rose to 101.77 in week 7.

HBO aired the movie ‘Mad Max Fury’ twice on Sunday from 13:01 – 15:19 and 20:59 – 23:19 which led to the rise in ratings of the slots. In the 13:01 – 15:19 slot, the ratings rose to 150.6 in week 7 from  34 in week 6 whereas, the 20:59 – 23:19 slot saw a rise in ratings from 31 in week 6 to 83.8 in week 7.

 ‘Kairali Asiavision Movie Awards 2015’ on Kairali TV took the 18:00 – 21:59 slot on Saturday and Sunday up by 14 per cent.

Romedy Now premiered the movie ‘Begin Again’ on Valentine’s Day which took the 21:00 – 23:15

 slot up by 3 times.

Among the Hindi GECs, Colors acquired the top spot in week 7 followed by Star Plus is at no.2 and Zee TV is at no. 3. 

Colors garnered 716 million ratings in week 7, which were 689 million in week 6. The 13 weeks average of the channel stood at 727 million. The channel saw an increase in viewership led by ATS. Monday, Tuesday and Friday saw an increase in viewership. One hour special episode of ‘Udaan’ saw an increase in viewership.

Star Plus garnered 692 million ratings in week 7 which were 711 million in week 6. The 13 weeks average of the channel were 731 million.

Zee TV’s Valentine’s Day musical event garnered viewership for the channel. The channel fetched 666 million ratings in week 7 which were 686 million in week 6. The 13 weeks average of the channel stood at 669 million.

Life OK’s new show ‘Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant’ took the ratings of the slot and channel up. The channel stood at No.5 in week 7 with 465 million ratings.

Sony Pal remained at No.7 also with 433 million ratings and saw an increase in viewership on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The channel had 397 million in week 6.

Free to air channels have seen an increase in viewership as part of their recovery from the last 2 weeks.
