BARC Ratings ‘Colors Golden Petal Awards’ takes the slot up by 60%

In week 15 (9-15 April, 2016) of the BARC Ratings,‘Ganga: Himalayan Descent’ took the slot of Discovery channel up. The ratings of Bangla News grew as a result of  2nd  phase of voting. Whereas, ‘Colors Golden Petal Awards’ benefitted the channelin terms ofratings.

 ‘Ganga: Himalayan Descent’ took the Friday20:59 - 21:59 slot of Discovery Channel up by 89 per cent. The ratings grew from 177 in week 14 to 336 in week 15.

Bangla News went up by 65 per cent during the 2nd  phase of voting. The ratings increased from 11069 ratings (previous 4 weeks average) to 18363 in week 15.

The viewership of  English News Genre went up by 49 per cent by the telecast of ‘Puttingal (Kerala) Temple tragedy’ .  It rose from 151 in week 14 to 225 in week 15.

First week of VIVO IPL 2016 live matches spike up the viewership for Sony channels.

Among the Hindi GECs, Star Plus retained its top spot in week 15. Colosr Stood at No.2 followed by Zee TV at No.3

The telecast of ‘Colors Golden Petal Awards’ took Sunday20:59 - 23:56 slot up by 60 per cent. The previous 13 weeks average was 5,165 which rose to 8,257 in week 15. Zee TV stood at No.3.

Life OK took a leap from No.7 to No.4 in week 15. New show ‘Bhakton Ki Bhakti Mein Shakti’  took the Saturday18:59 - 19:59 slot up by 18 per cent. Previous 13 weeks average of the slot was 1531 which rose to 1806 in week 15.


The production house has already established itself as the leader in the non-scripted genres. However, Rege now wants Endemol to achieve the same in the original scripted zone and film production
