BAG Films & Media has christened two of its forthcoming channels. While the Hindi news channel has been named ‘News 24’, the entertainment channel has been named ‘E 24’. This apart, the media group is all set to bring its entire broadcast initiative under the ‘Network24’ brand umbrella.
“This is a young brand which would represent the youth. From the perspective of a content driven company that we had been so far, I would say that the content would separate the channels from the rest. This is a forward integration of our business. We were a B2B entity earlier and now converted to a B2C company. We are here to become a 360-degree media company,” said Anurradha Prasad, MD, BAG Films & Media Ltd, over the phone from London.
She further said that in Hindi too the name of the brand would be ‘Twenty Four’ only and would not be converted to its Hindi version.
The company also has plans to launch four channels, of which two are geared for launch by November this year.
The Network24 brand umbrella would cover the entire spectrum of audio-visual infotainment of BAG, which includes TV, radio, digital, new media and content creation.
The company intends to make its debut in the broadcasting arena with two 24-hour FM channels, and on their launch, would integrate into the new entity its existing radio business, which is currently under the banner Radio Dhamaal in 10 cities.
