BAG Network’s E24 dons a new avatar; beefs up content line-up

Within three months of News24 undergoing a heavy makeover, BAG Network has now refreshed the look of its entertainment channel - E24. The channel went on air with a new logo and fresh programming line-up on July 25, 2011.

All the changes have been done by E24’s in-house creative team. Though there is no change in the positioning of the channel yet, RK Arora, CEO, Broadcasting, BAG Newsline Network, affirmed, “our aim is to make E24 undoubtedly Bollywood’s No. 1 channel connected to the masses”.

Recently, Salil Sand had been roped in as Creative Director to boost E24’s programming. The new programming line-up of the channel includes a film review show titled ‘Picture abhi baaki hai’; ‘Entertainment 100’, a compilation of the top 100 entertainment news from across the globe; and ‘U, Me aur TV’, among others. This apart, the timing of popular programme ‘Bollywood Reporter’ has been extended to one hour. ‘Night Life’ and ‘Filmy Café’ are two more shows in the pipeline. Meanwhile, E24 is also planning a mega unique reality show.

In keeping with these developments, the channel is also looking to beef up its distribution network. Arora divulged, “With the new look we are taking our premium content to more viewers, where we are spending a good amount of money on the distribution front and advertisers will see the change in reach and channel share in the coming weeks.”

Along with these changes, the channel will also be hiking its ad rates. “Now the channel comes in a new look; advertisers will have to spend some extra money,” Arora added.

To promote the channel’s new look, BAG Network has rolled out a print campaign in all leading newspapers, including Hindi and English newspapers. “Apart from this, you will see lot more happening in OOH and digital media,” Arora further said.

Meanwhile, E24 is now available on all digital platforms, including mobile and the Internet. The channel can also be viewed on IPTV in India and Canada. Arora stressed, “We are pumping our entertainment content across operators on IVRS, 3G, and so on. E24 can be viewed on Mobile TV as well.”

He further said that in the coming months, the industry would see lots of changes in the channels in BAG Network’s bouquet.
