Asianet Movies to launch on Jul 15

Asianet, the first Malayalam satellite TV channel, is all set to launch an exclusive round the clock movie channel, ‘Asianet Movies’, on July 15, 2012.

Confirming the news to exchange4media, an Asianet Communication spokesperson said, “Movies is something which has a great impact all over the country. There is a huge space in the Kerala market for Malayalam movies. Movies are always fascinating and a survey that we had carried out showed that there is great demand for regional movies.”

Asianet Movies will air a mix of super hit movies, classic movies and evergreen movies in addition to the most recent films. The channel also presents the new beats in film industry, star chats and other movie related programmes. Apart from Malayalam, viewers can also watch super hit movies in Tamil and Hindi languages.

The new channel will start its telecast with the movie ‘Spanish Masala’, directed by Lal Jose.

In order to create awareness amongst the audience, the channel is doing promotions through the Asianet network. Various OOH and print campaigns have also commenced. In a bid to attract the youth, various digital and social campaigns are also underway.

The new channel already has various national and local advertisers on board.

Asianet Movies, which is a free to air channel, will be available all over India, the Gulf and other countries. In Kerala, the channel will be available through all major cable TV operators, including ACV, COA and other DTH platforms.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
