Arnab Goswami receives legal threat from leading media group

Arnab Goswami, Co-founder and Managing Director of Republic TV, has received a legal threat from a leading media group, to which he has responded publicly on Republic TV’s Facebook page. Goswami has shared with his fans that the media group is threatening him with imprisonment if he ever uses the phrase ‘Nation wants to know’. He reassures his fans that the threat of imprisonment will not deter him and his team at Republic TV.

He then goes on to say how the phrase ‘Nation wants to know’ belongs to every citizen of this country and symbolizes the issues that need to be picked up and sought accountability for, where it is due. Goswami says that he has used the phrase with pride in his reporting and on debates for the last 20 years.

Goswami claims that in the last few months, the media group has harassed him and his team members. It has even threatened them with “untoward action” so as to stall the launch of Republic TV. But he concludes saying that the Republic TV team is unstoppable. At the end of his message, Goswami has challenged the media group to “bring it on”.
