Arnab Goswami conferred with ‘Assamese of the Year’ Award

Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief, Times Now and television anchor, has been conferred with the ‘Assamese of the Year’ Award for 2009 by News Live channel on its second anniversary on January 21, 2010. The Award was given away by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at a function in Guwahati. The Award carries a citation and cash of Rs 2 lakh.

Goswami, a Post Graduate from Oxford University, has been a visiting fellow at Cambridge University. He is the author of a book on POTA, ‘Combating terrorism: The legal challenge’, and has hosted one of the longest running news programmes on air, which won him an Asian Television Award for best news presenter.

News Live is a television news channel of Assam and the North-East region. On the occasion of the first anniversary of News Live in 2009, music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
