Amrita TV recently launched two exclusive programmes targeting audiences in the Middle East, which comprises a large proportion of Malayalis, to coincide with the Dubai Shopping Festival.
The two programmes – ‘Hello Dubai’ and ‘Hi-tech Hungama’ – launched on January 26, is being aired from 11 pm to 12 pm, which corresponds to prime time for Middle East viewers. ‘Hello Dubai’ is a tour of the 2008 Dubai Shopping Festival, focusing on the unique cultural diversity of the different countries represented by individual pavilions. An anchor will visit a different pavilion in each episode exploring various aspects of each cultural by sampling foods, interviewing vendors and looking at the various shopping options.
‘Hi-tech Hungama’ takes the viewers on of a tour of the latest gadgets being sold at the Dubai Shopping Festival. A tech-savvy anchor tours a wide array of booths and showrooms showcasing various high-tech gadgets. Amrita TV has flown in a hand-picked team of producers, anchors and cameramen to handle the Dubai Shopping Festival assignment, which is being branded by Joy Alukkas, Lulu, UAE Exchange and Geepas.
Amrita TV's Middle East operations have been expanding fast in recent times in the wake of major concerts like ‘Super Star Caravan’ on New Year’s eve featuring ace percussionist Sivamani and ‘Super Star Festival’ in September 2007.
