All regional GEC markets get off to good start with rise in ratings

In the first week of 2015 all the regional markets saw an increase in their ratings. Majority  of the channels saw a significant jump in their ratings

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers week 1 (December 28, 2014 – January 1, 2015) in the CS4+ markets, the Bihar and Jharkhand channel Big Magic Ganga saw a significant increase in its ratings to 1640 GVTs in week 1 from 663 GTVs in week 52. Mahuaa Plus declined marginally to 1087 GVTs in week 1 from 1107 GVTs in week 52. Anjan increased to 964 GVTs in week 1 from 631 GVTs in week 52. Oscar Movies Bhojpuri too increased to 381 GVTs this week from 332 GVTs in week 52.

In the Bengali GEC market Star Jalsha increased 119,547 GVTs in week 1 from 111,222 GVTS in week 52. Zee Bangla too saw a rise in the ratings to 90,149 GVTs in week 1 from 88,832 GVTs in week 52. ETV Bangla rose to 27,301 GVTs in week 1 from 24,616 GVTs in week 52. Aakaash too increased from 13,648 GVTs in week 52 from 15,103 GVTs in week 1. Rupashi Bangla increased to 2066 GVTs in week 1 from 1997 GVTs in week 52.

In week 1 of the Tamil Nadu markets saw the increase in Sun TV to 263,052 GVTs from 235,801 GVTs. Vijay on the other hand declined to 74,613 GVTs in week 1 from 76,404 GVTs in week 52. Kalaignar TV increased to 28,277 GVTs in week 1 from 23,374 GVTs in week 52. Zee Tamil saw a marginal increase in its ratings to 21,638 GVTs in week 1 from 21,022 in week 52. Raj TV on the other hand declined to 20,709 GVTs in week 1 from 21,024 GVTs in week 52. Jaya TV saw a rise in its ratings to 15,756 GVTs in week 1 from 13,390 GVTs in week 52. Mega TV however saw a decline in ratings to 5857 GVTs this week from 6056 GVTs last week.

In the Maharashtra market, Zee Marathi topped the chart with an increase to 142,265 GVTs in week 1 from 138,598 GVTs in week 52. Star Pravah also saw its ratings rise to 64,310 GVTs in week 1 from 58,561 GVTs in week 52. ETV Marathi too rose to 58,507 GVTs in week 1 from 52,849 GVTs in week 52. Mi Marathi saw a marginal increase in its ratings to 11,943 GVTs in week 1 from 11,851 GVTs in week 52.

In the Karnataka market, Udaya increased marginally to 75,561 GVTs in week 1 from 73,130 GVTs in week 52. ETV Kannada increased in its ratings to 58,013 GVTs in week 1 from 49,454 GVTs in week 52. Suvarna increased in its ratings to 48,899 GVTs in week 1 from 46,277 GVTs in week 52. Zee Kannada on the other hand increased to 38,294 GVTs in week 1 from 36,485 GVTs in week 52. Kasturi increased significantly to 10,245 GVTs in week 1 from 7106 GVTs in week 52.

Among the Telugu GECs, Gemini increased significantly to 109,827 GVTs in week 1 from 99,181 GVTs in week 52. Zee Telugu too increased to 106,887 GVTs in week 1 from 98,216 GVTs in week 52. MAA however was on the decline to 104,057 GVTs in this week from 112,125 GVTs in the previous week. ETV increased to 98,512 GVTs in week 1 from 90,383 GVTs in week 52.

In the Kerala market, Asianet increased its ratings to 56,926 GVTs in week 1 from 50,860 GVTs in week 52. Surya increased its ratings to 15,320 GVTs in week 1 from 12,182 GVTs in week 52. Kairali increased its ratings significantly to 5581 GVTs in week 1 from 3063 GVTs in week 52. Asianet Plus too increased its ratings to 4222 GVTs in week 1 from 3793 GVTs in week 52. Amrita increased marginally to 2209 GVTs in week 1 from 2144 GVTs in week 52.
