After Laughter Challenge, Laughter Champion also falls in Endemol India’s kitty

After the success of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Dwitiya’, which witnessed a rating of 7.90 TVR for the final episode, Endemol India has been given the production responsibilities of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Champions Dwitiya’ as well. The show begins on July 14, 2006. As was the case last year, this year, too, will showcase the best talents of TGILC – only this year it would be from both Season one and two of TGILC.

The second avatar comes with its set of changes. The show has also been revamped as Shekhar Suman and Navjot Singh Sidhu judge the contest separately. The show will see Bollywood stars like Riya Sen, Isha Koppikar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Udita Goswami as guests.

Speaking on the partnership, Rajesh Kamat, Managing Director, Endemol India, said, “We are glad to team up with STAR One and present ‘The Great Indian Laughter Champions Dwitiya’ to the viewers in India. As a production house, we have tried our best to present a dose of whacked-out humour with panache and flamboyance to cure Friday night blues with experimental laughter therapy! We intend to successfully develop some more path-breaking shows and be an integral part of this sunrise industry in the country.”

Within a short span of six months, Endemol has made a mark on Indian television through its formats like ‘Fear Factor India’, ‘Deal Ya No Deal’ and ‘Heart Beat’, besides producing blockbusters like ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Dwitiya’ and now the second season of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Champions’.
