Aaj Tak retains lead; ABP and India TV vie for second and third slots

Aaj Tak has retained its top slot in the Hindi news channel segment according to TAM Media ratings for Week 34. But the successive slots have witnessed some volatility. 
 
As per data sourced from TAM subscribers in CS 15+, TSV (Total Shift Viewing) WK 34 2014, (0600-2400) Aaj Tak maintains its lead with 17.2 points, though the channel has seen a marginal dip of 0.8 points. ABP News holds the second position this week with 12.7 points, though it lost 1.1 points from last week.

In fact, the big talking point about this week's ratings is that all the major Hindi channels have experienced a marginal dip in their ratings.

India TV, which has always been in the top three, was at the third position with 12 points, down one point from last week. Zee News was at four with 11.4 points and a slight dip of 0.2 points. The exception was India News, that registered a growth of 1.7 points with 11.4 points at number five position. News Nation got 9.0 points, dropping 1.2 points from the previous week. News 24 got 8.1 ratings with a marginal growth of 1.8 ratings this week. IBN 7 registered a decline of 0.1 points and landed up with 5.2 ratings. While ratings for NDTV  were a lack-lustre 4.4, it gained 0.2 points from last week. Tez got 4.1 points, Sahara Samay 3.1 and DD News got 1.5 ratings.

In the target group of CS 25+ Male, ABC, Aaj Tak leads the chart with 18.1 points, down 0.7 points. India TV jumped to the second position in this category with 12.5 points, losing 0.9 points from previous week.

While ABP also scored 12.5 points, down  0.9 points from previous week, Zee News scored 11.4 points, down 0.8 points from last week. India News, at 11.4 points kept growing by 1.8 points. News Nation got 8.6 points, lost 0.7 points.

News 24 raised its bar with 7.6 points, registering a marginal increase of 1.9 points. IBN 7 registered a slight dip of 0.1 points, ending up with 5.4 points. NDTV registered a gain of .3 points at 5.0, TEZ settled with 3.5, Sahara Samay 2.5 and DD News 1.5 points.
