Aaj Tak plans to launch English news by early next year

Aaj Tak the news channel from the Living Media group is planning to launch its English news channel by early next year. The exact details have not been spelled out by the channel sources. According to them TV Today Network could take a fresh call on it in April after competition launches its news channels.

The channel plans to go pay soon and without any tie-up with any distribution platforms. The pay channel rate is yet to be decided. The channel had early given a commitment to cable operators to remain free-to-air for the first two year of its launch.

According to media analysts, with the survival of stand-alone channel becoming difficult this would be a good counter strategy for bouquetisation.
