Aaj Tak, Headlines Today, Tez turn pay; join TheOneAlliance bouquet

Aaj Tak, Headlines Today and Tez have turned pay in non-CAS areas. TV Today Network Ltd, which owns these channels, has entered into a strategic tie-up with TheOneAlliance for distribution of these three channels.

TheOneAlliance is owned by SET Discovery Pvt Ltd., a joint venture between SET India Pvt. Ltd. and Discovery Communications India. It is a leading television distribution company that has premium channels like Sony Entertainment Television, Max, SAB, PIX, Discovery, DTL, Animal Planet, Animax, MTV, Nick, AXN, Ten Sports, NDTV 24X7, NDTV Profit, NDTV India and Vh1 in its bouquet.

TV Today from the India Today Group has made significant inroads in the international market by launching in the US, the UK and Continental Europe. With an eye on the future, the network has now decided to tap into the domestic subscription market.

G Krishnan, CEO, TV Today, said, “This is a key development and I am glad we are going to be a part of the TheOneAlliance bouquet. I firmly believe that as a network if we continue to provide compelling content, the viewers will be willing to pay for the channels. I am certain that subscription revenue is going to gather significant momentum in time to come.”
