9X to launch post-Diwali; Tata Sky is the DTH platform

Following the soft launch of 9XM, the music channel of INX Media, 9X, the general entertainment channel from the stable, is also slated to go on air on November 12, 2007. Channel officials informed that the channel would also be available on the Tata Sky DTH platform on the same day.

Indrani Mukerjea, Founder and Group Executive Director, INX Media Pvt Ltd, said, “It gives me great pleasure to announce that 9X will unveil its line-up of primetime programming at 9 pm on November 12, 2007. We aim to provide complete family entertainment through a distinctive variety of programmes of compelling, world class quality that will connect with viewers instantly.”

As is known, 9X’s production partners include Balaji Telefilms, Synergy Adlabs, Endemol India, Ugraya Entertainment, Cinevista, BAG Films, Hats Off Productions, Televisa, Creative Eye, Miditech, Wizcraft, Edit II Productions and Beyond Dreams.

Amongst some of the shows on the channel, Ekta Kapoor is producing two dramas – ‘Kahe Naa Kahe’, which will air Monday to Thursday at 9 pm, and ‘Kya Dill Mein Hai’. Smriti Irani’s ‘Mere Apne’ will mark the television debut of Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna. The show is scheduled to air at 10 pm, Monday to Thursday. Actor Tanuja will make her TV debut in ‘Babban Bhai v/s Bimla Tai’. Synergy Adlabs is making its debut in fiction programming with romantic daily drama ‘Jiya Jale’.

Mukerjea said, “Today’s discerning TV viewers want content that is distinctive and appealing. 9X will uniquely combine glamour with depth and values, which is what today’s India is all about.”
