9X claims No. 3 spot among Hindi GECs across both top demographics

Hindi CEC 9X, launched just under five months back by INX Media, the flagship company of the INX Network, is now the No. 3 Hindi GEC across both demographics – C&S 15-24 and C&S 4+, per aMap data released for Week 17 of 2008 in the West, North and East.

The GEC report card as per aMap in C&S 4+ is as follows: Star Plus (291 GRPs), Zee (182 GRPs), 9X (88 GRPs), NDTV Imagine (80 GRPs), Star One (67 GRPs), Sony (66 GRPs) and Sahara One (54 GRPs).

In the C&S 15-24 years audience segment, 9X is the No. 3 Hindi GEC with 92 GRPs. The GRPs for all the channels in this segment are: Star Plus (298 GRPs), Zee (173 GRPs), 9X (92 GRPs), NDTV Imagine (81 GRPs), Star One (70 GRPs), Sony (61 GRPs) and Sahara One (56 GRPs).

9X added another half hour of original prime time programming from April 28 with ‘Jai Maa Vaishnodevi’. Meanwhile, 9X also soft-launched in the UK on EPG 832 from April 28 with four hours of programming to begin with.

The channel can look forward to better ratings as it will fill up two more hours of original prime time programming in the next five months.

Considering that there is another one and a half hours of prime time programming still to come along with more weekend programming and several mega blockbuster Hindi movies lined up, the team at 9X is confident of maintaining the channel’s healthy growth.
