24 Ghanta tests viewers’ Heritage quotient with ‘Amar Bangla Amar Gourab’ contest

24 Ghanta tests viewers’ Heritage quotient with ‘Amar Bangla Amar Gourab’ contest

Bengali news channel 24 Ghanta has embarked on a new contest for its viewers titled ‘Amar Bangla Amar Gourab’, which features some of well-known Heritage sites of West Bengal. The contest was kicked off on July 26.

Some of the famous monuments that form an integral part of the history of Bengal have been chosen and each monument has been given separate codes. The vignettes of the monuments are shown on the channel and viewers are asked to vote for their favourite monument via SMS. The viewer’s vote will have to match with that of the monument which receives the maximum number of votes. Subsequently, three lucky winners would be given cash prizes of Rs 15,000 each. The monument that receives the maximum votes would be given the title of ‘Amar Bangla Amar Gourab’ by the channel.

The 10 monuments that are being featured include Victoria Memorial, Belur Math, Jorasanko Thakurbari (Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home), Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s ancestral home, Hazar Duari located in Murshidabad, Imambara (also in Murshidabad), Presidency College, National Library, Bandel Church, and the Cooch Behar Palace.
