enba 2016 celebrated the success of television news professionals across 31 different categories. Here is what the winners had to say:

Aroon Purie, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, India Today Group

Firstly I’m very delighted that we won the English and Hindi best channel awards, this is unprecedented. I’m really proud of my team and the kind of journalism that they do. Moreover, recognising journalists is a way of paying back the journalists for what they are doing. We are very committed to practising top class journalism and holding up the standard of journalism.

Ashish Bagga, CEO, India Today Group

I am delighted to be here today. It has been a great feeling that the India Today Group has swept the enba Awards, where we have won all the top awards of the year. It is testimony of the kind of quality and hard work that goes into producing these news programmes. It is a team effort and I commend the jury for recognising the fact that the India Today Group has the best and the most excellent channels, both English and Hindi.

Shereen Bhan, Managing Editor, CNBC-TV18

It is nice to be recognised and that too amongst your own peers. We take these awards seriously and we have been participating in these awards for the last few years and it feels good to be back here. I hope we would continue to reward merit and good talent and this is a good way of appreciating talent and hopefully this will spur the industry to put out good quality content.

Kartikeya Sharma, Founder and Promoter, iTV Network

I think it is great to recognise talent of journalists who work very hard to come to this point and take their craft and journalism to a different level altogether. I thank enba for creating this platform and recognising the good work in journalism.

Rahul Kanwal, Managing Editor, India Today

I would like to thank Anurag Batra, Suparnaa Chadda and the entire team at exchange4media for putting together the enba Awards 2016. This is the first time when any network has won both best Hindi and English news channel awards at the same time. For us at the India Today Group, it is a big accomplishment and I again thank exchange4media for these awards.

Sreenivasan Jain, Managing Editor, NDTV 24x7

I am very excited to win yet another enba award. In fact Truth Vs Hype was first recognised by enba when we started, so this one will be special too. Every award like this helps us, encourages us, motivates us and gives us the much needed recognition. I would again like to thank enba for this award.

Sweta Singh Executive Editor, Programming, Aaj Tak

When you talk about anchoring, it has become a noisy world out there and one is always worried if you are left behind. But all thanks to enba for recognising our brand of journalism and for the awards.

Gaurav Sawant, Executive Editor, India Today

It is an honour to get such a prestigious award. I hope people will realise that our only attempt is to showcase truth on the ground and we will continue to report without fear or favour.
