 Week 44 ratings: Star Plus gains maximum ground; Colors stands strong at No. 2

Week 44 (October 26 – November 1, 2014) in the Hindi GEC universe saw the ratings of all the top Hindi GEC channels rise, however there were no changes in their positions at the top. Star Plus during the week recorded the highest gain during the week. According to data from TAM subscribers, the channel saw a huge gain in viewership in week 44 increasing from 595 million GVTs in week 43 (October 19 – 25, 2014) to 655 million GVTs.

Strongly holding onto second place Colors gained in its ratings and increased to 457 million GVTs this week from 432 million GVTs.

Zee TV too gained in viewership though the increase was marginal. At No.3 spot on the ratings chart the channel grew from 394 million GVTs in week 43 to 405 million GVTs in week 44.

SAB TV at No.4 spot saw a gain of 37 million GVTs as it increased its ratings from 287 million GVTs last week to 307 million GVTs this week.

Life OK, which recently slipped in the ratings chart to No.5, saw an increase in its ratings this week. It made large strides this week and remain close on the heels of SAB TV. The channel increased from 257 million GVTs in week 43 to 305 million GVTs in week 44.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) too saw its viewership gain momentum as its ratings increased from 248 million GVTs in week 43 to 285 million GVTs in week 44.

Rishtey saw its ratings decline from 56 million GVTs in week 43 to 50 million GVTs in week 44.  

Big Magic saw its ratings decline in week 44 to 56 million GVTs from 59 million GVTs in week 43.

Sony Pal and Zindagi too saw and increase and though both channels currently stand at 31 million GVTs, Sony Pal managed to gain just a little more in viewership. While Zindagi gained 4 million GVTs during the week, Sony Pal managed to get 5 million GVTs. This puts Sony Pal a little ahead of Zindagi. In the previous week Zindagi’s ratings stood at 27 million GVTs and Sony Pal at 26 million GVTs.

Sahara One’s ratings declined during week 44 to 10 million GVTs from 11 million GVTs in week 43.
