 Sasural Simar Ka, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Farah Ki Daawat give Colors the edge in week 11

In week 11 (March 8 – 14, 2015), except for Colors which saw a marginal increase in ratings, almost all other top Hindi GEC channels saw a decline. This pushed Colors back into the second spot once again. exchange4media takes a closer look at the performance of the shows on these channels during the week.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers, Star Plus declined from 592 million GVTs in week 11 from 604 million GVTs in week 10. Many of the shows on the channel during the week either stayed the same or declined. Shows such as Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, Veera, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Tere Sheher Mein all saw their ratings stay the same from last week at 4.1, 1.9, 1.3, 1.2 and 1.2 TRPs respectively. While shows such as Diya Aur Baati Hum, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Tu Mera Hero saw a decline this week to 3.9, 3.5 and 3 TRPs in week 11 respectively from 4.4, 3.7 and 3.2 TRPs respectively in week 10. Saath Nibhana Saathiya and Master Chef Season 4 on the other hand were the only shows to see a rise to 4.7 and 1.1 TRPs respectively this week from 4 and 0.9 TRPs respectively last week.   

Colors gained second spot with a marginal rise to 428 million GVTs in week 11 from 424 million in week 10. While most of the shows largely saw their ratings stay the same as last week there were few that saw a rise in ratings this week. Sasural Simar Ka, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Farah Ki Daawat saw a rise in the ratings this week to 3.8, 2.5 and 1.3 TRPs respectively from 3.4, 2.4 and 1 TRPs in week 10 respectively. Shows such as Comedy Nights with Kapil, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi and Code Red ratings stayed the same since last week at 2.7, 2.6, 2.4 and 1.1 TRPs respectively. Udaan, Balika Vadhu, Shastri Sisters and Swaragini on the other hand declined marginally to 2.7, 2.5, 1 and 2.2 TRPs in week 11 respectively from 2.9, 2.6, 1.3 and 2.5 TRPs in week 10 respectively. 

Zee TV lost its second spot as its ratings fell to 407 million GVTs in week 11 from 427 million GVTs in week 10. Most of the shows did not see any change in the ratings since last week except for a few declines and no significant increase in ratings on the other hand. Kumkum Bhagya, Jamai Raja, Qubool Hai, Satrangi Sasural, Jodha Akbar, Doli Armaanon Ki, Bandhan, Hello Pratibha and Service Wali Bahu ratings stayed the same as last week at 4.4, 2.9, 2.6, 2.4, 2.2, 2, 0.9, 0.8 and 0.7 TRPs respectively. Neeli Chhatri Wale and Saregamapa Lil Champs declined to 2 and 1.8 TRPs respectively in week 11 from 2.1 and 2.2 TRPs in week 10 respectively. Maharakshak Devi in its first week of launch brought in ratings of 0.7 TRPs.

Life OK declined this week to 307 million GVTs in week 11 from 314 million GVTs in week 10. Shows on the channel either stayed the same as last week or declined during the week. While Comedy Classes and Laut Aao Trisha saw its ratings stay the same at 1.3 and 0.3 TRPs respectively since the previous week, Savdhaan India, Mahakumbh and Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali declined to 1.3, 0.8 and 0.4 TRPs in week 11 respectively from 1.5, 0.9 and 0.5 TRPs in week 10 respectively. Newly launched show Dream Girl brought in ratings of 0.5 TRPs in its first week.

Sab TV also declined to 288 million GVTs in week 11 from 312 million GVTs in week 10. While some of the shows saw a marginal rise in ratings there were others that saw their ratings stay the same since the previous week. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Chidiya Char and Baal Veer increased marginally to 3.2, 1.5 and 1.3 TRPs in week 11 from 3.1, 1.4 and 1.1 TRPs in week 10 respectively. While Badi Door Se Aaye Hai, Yam Hain Hum, Peterson Hill and The Great Indian Family Drama all stayed the same as last week to 1.1, 0.9, 0.5 and 0.2 TRPs respectively.

Newly launched Hindi GEC, &TV, climbed further up the ratings table in the second week since its launch as it increased to 105 million GVTs in week 11 from 90.6 million GVTs in week 10. Shows such as Gangaa and Begu Sarai saw a rise in their ratings this week to 0.8 and 0.4 TRPs in week 11 from 0.6 and 0.3 TRPs in week 10 respectively. While India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain,  Bhagya Lakshmi, Razia Sultan and Tujhse Naaraz Nahi Zindagi ratings stayed the same since last week at 0.4, 0.4, 0.3, 0.3 and 0.2 TRPs respectively. Killer Karaoke saw a marginal decline to 0.4 TRPs in week 11 from 0.5 TRPs in week 10.
