 Public TV completes three years; Anantha Chinivar takes charge as new Editor-In-Chief

Public TV, a Kannada news channel part of Writemen Media Pvt Ltd, completed three years.

The channel has emerged as a strong player in the regional news space in Karnataka. The other regional news channels operating in the state are – TV9-Kannada, Suvarna News, ETV News, Samaya News, Kasthuri News, Janasri, Raj News Kannada, Udaya News and BTV.

“Public TV will continue to strive to become a household name in the state. We will ensure that our clients and agencies are happy in associating with our channel. We thank viewers and advertisers for showing confidence in Public TV and Public MUSIC,” said CK Harish Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Public TV.

Meanwhile, Anantha Chinivar has taken charge as the channel’s Editor-In-Chief from today. Chinivar comes with 25 years of experience in both television and print media. His last assignment was with Suvarna News. He was also worked with Janasri, Asianet Suvarna, O Manase, Suprabhatha TV, Udaya TV, Indian Express Group, India Today, Aside, Star of Mysore and Zee Kannada.

Chinnivar would report to HR Ranganath, CMD of the company.

“We will target the youth and focus to reinvent and explore into other genres in television. We will also spread across the digital and other mediums,” said Ranganath.
