 Neo Sports bags FIFA Club World Cup rights

Neo Sports has acquired exclusive broadcast rights for 2015 and 2016 FIFA Club World Cup.

The 2015 FIFA Club World Cup will be the 12th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, a FIFA- organised international club football tournament between the champion clubs from each of the 6 continental confederations, as well as the national league champion from the host country. The tournament will be held in Osaka, Japan between December 10–20, 2015.

Under the agreement, it will telecast 8 matches live. Six highly competitive teams which include the current UEFA champion FC Barcelona and another champion club River Plate will also be seen in action. The tournament will also feature Auckland City (OFC), Club America (CONCACAF), TP Mazembe, Guangzhou Evergrande. 

Mautik Tolia, EVP Programming, Neo Sports says, “Last time the tournament created a lot of buzz and the quality of football was also premium. We went aggressively for the rights because we feel this is a great time to have a FIFA tournament. Everyone’s eyes will be on star packed Barcelona and I think there will be some exhibition of quality football.” 

“Neo will continue to evaluate the available rights and whenever we see a premium sport available we will grab the opportunity,” asserts Tolia.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
