WorldSpace to showcase the magic of movies with ‘Soundtracks of your life’

Satellite radio network WorldSpace has recently unveiled its new show – ‘Soundtracks of your life’. The series will comprise music from old classical movies to the latest blockbusters. The movies will be selected from across all genres, including Bollywood, Hollywood and regional films as well. Being aired between October 23 and December 31, 2006, this series features interviews with composers, actors and directors as well as other on-air features along with the music.

Talking about the show, Harshad Jain, CMO, WorldSpace India, said, “At WorldSpace, we are committed to presenting to our subscribers innovative new content unavailable anywhere else on radio. We are confident that our first-of-its-kind initiatives will further establish our brand as the best source for exclusive programme listening in our markets.”

The show will be aired on multiple channels available on WorldSpace. Some of the programmes on schedule include Jhankaar, Spin, Gandharv, Farishta and Falak. These programmes, each running for a week, cover genres like Bollywood film hits, Hollywood movie scores, Hindustani Classical Music and Urdu ghazals. The programme, Farishta, will showcase the career of Husnlal Bhagatram, Hindi cinema’s first ever composer duo who started their career in the 40s by playing exclusive songs from the collection of a private collector.
