Red FM Mumbai refurbishes its on-air programming

Red FM Mumbai listeners have begun experiencing their daily dose of music masti and comic adventures in a completely new avatar with the introduction of a whole new programming schedule and format.

The new programming schedule starts with the mid-morning show called the ‘Red FM Mentaal Show’ hosted by RJs Suresh Menon and Hoezay, which is aired Monday to Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and has a youthful format. This is followed by a countdown show of superhit songs called ‘2 to 5 Top 25 countdown’ with RJs Rohini and Pritam Pyaare, which will be on air Monday to Saturday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In addition to these, there is a late night show called ‘Nassar ke Kisse’, which will be hosted by RJ Nassar and aired between 1:00 am and 4:00 am, Monday to Friday, where listeners will be privy to different perspectives on life in the form of interesting stories.

Elaborating on the new programming initiative, Nisha Narayanan, Senior Vice President - Projects & Programming, Red FM, said, “In a market which is cluttered with similar programming content, we believe in putting in front differentiated and edgy content. We have taken one step ahead again in doing so. Our efforts have been to reshuffle the mid-morning and afternoon slots with two brand new shows. At a time band where others are busy playing retro music and content, which also revolves around retro Bollywood movies and songs, Red FM plans to go mad with the best dual jocks ever created going mental on-air with the best contemporary hits from Bollywood, followed by the only countdown show in its time band. We are sticking on to the USP of each show and trying to create differentiation.”

Currently, the FM station is promoting the new show launches in the trade medium through mailers and PR activities. Digital media also forms an integral part of Red FM’s new programming promotion plan. With RJs Hoezaay and Suresh Menon having a strong fan following on their Facebook page and on Twitter, they will be leveraging promotions personally from their personal pages.

Apart from this, Red FM’s official Facebook page will be used for various promotional activities. The page currently has 11,000 followers. Twitter is also actively used with an average of 20 updates and interactions happening on day to day basis. Actor Ranbir Kapoor inaugurated the ‘2 to 5 Top25 countdown’ show and the videos have spread as viral on the Internet. The Red FM YouTube channel takes it to the next level for all the new innovations.
