According to RAM (Radio Audience Measurement) data for all female 12 plus, all places of listening, Radio Mirchi continues to lead among female listeners in Kolkata, closely followed by Big FM. Friends FM continues to rank No. 3, Aamar and Fever FM are competing for the fourth slot.
Radio Mirchi ended on week 17 with a market share of 20.8 per cent, Mirchi however touched the highest peak on weeks two and three respectively with 22.2 per cent.
Big FM too continues to be the second most popular FM station in Kolkata and the last 17 weeks trend shows its listenership has seen an increase. Week 17 for instance ended with 17.8 per cent market share from 16.6 per cent of the market share on week one. On week 14 Big FM and Radio Mirchi were neck-n-neck with 19.3 per cent and 19.7 per cent respectively.
Friends FM has been comfortably placed in the third position however the last couple of weeks show that its ratings are declining. From 14.3 per cent of the market share on week one, Friends FM on week 17 ended with 12.6 per cent of the market share.
Aamar FM too has shown an increase trend in its listenership however it is closely competing with Fever FM for the fourth slot. On week 17 Aamar FM ended with 9.9 per cent of the market share, followed by Fever FM with 8.9 per cent of the market share. Red FM on the other hand has shown consistency in its ratings with 7.2 per cent of the market share.
Radio One, Meow FM, AIR FM2 Gold, AIR FM1 Rainbow, Power FM, Vividh Bharati and Akashavani are the other FM stations in the Kolkata market.
