RAM Rambling: Delhiites prefer their Mirchi mornings

As per the latest RAM data, Radio Mirchi continued to lead in the Delhi market for the morning slot between 7 am and 11 am in Week 29. The FM station got a 23.4 per cent market share in Week 29, up from 24.1 per cent market share in Week 28, 24.5 per cent market share in Week 27 and 27 per cent market share in Week 26.

Its nearest competitor, AIR FM2 Gold, was placed in the second slot, securing a 19.4 per cent market share in Week 29. , too, has seen a growth in its market share – from 18.9 per cent in Week 26 to 19.4 per cent in Week 27 and dropped down to 17.6 per cent in Week 28.

Fever FM, which has secured the third place, has remained constant in terms of market share, securing 14.7 per cent in Weeks 26 and 27. In Week 28, the FM station had a market share of 15.3 per cent, which marginally increased to 15.4 per cent in Week 29.

Radio City had a market share of 11.7 per cent in Week 29. In Week 26, the FM player’s market share stood at 9.1 per cent, which increased to 9.6 per cent in Week 27, but dropped to 8.4 per cent in Week 28.

Red FM’s market share for Week 29 stood at 10 per cent. The stations share was at 10.1 per cent in Week 26, which went up to 10.5 per cent in Week 27 and further rose to 12 per cent in Week 28.

Big FM has been seeing quite a few ups and downs in the past few weeks. The station had a market share of 7.5 per cent in Week 26, which was down marginally at 7.2 per cent in Week 27, but thereafter the FM player saw a marginal decrease in its market share – from 8.4 per cent in Week 28 to 8.2 per cent in Week 29.

Radio One has seen a steady fall in market share from 5.9 per cent in Week 26 to 5.8 per cent in Week 27 to 5.2 per cent in Week 28 and 5 per cent in Week 29.

Meow FM has seen a marginal increase from 2 per cent market share in Week 26 to 2.9 per cent in Week 27. The station’s share in Week 28 was at 2.8 per cent share, which dipped to 2.4 per cent in Week 29.

AIR FM 1 Rainbow’s market share stood at 1.4 per cent in Weeks 27 and 29. It saw a brief spike in Week 28 at 1.8 per cent, whereas the FM station’s market share was 1.1 per cent in Week 26.

Vividh Bharati secured a market share of 1.6 per cent in Week 27, which remained constant at 1.7 per cent market share in Weeks 26, 28 and 29. Akashvani Delhi secured a 1.7 per cent share in Week 29, while Hit 95 FM secured a 1.2 per cent share.
