RAM Rambling: Bangalore opts for Big FM in the mornings

The latest RAM data reveals Big FM continuing its leadership position in the Bangalore market for the morning slot between 7 am and 11 am in Week 29. The FM station got a 20.8 per cent market share in Week 29, up from 18.6 per cent market share in Week 28, 18.7 per cent market share in Week 27 and 19.5 per cent market share in Week 26.

Radio Mirchi was placed in the second slot, securing a 16 per cent market share in Week 29. The FM station’s market share stood at 17.3 per cent in Week 26, which dipped slightly to 17.1 per cent in Week 27, before increasing to 17.5 per cent in Week 28.

Radio City, which is placed third, has remained more or less constant in terms of market share, securing 11 per cent in Week 26, 11.8 per cent in Week 27, 11.7 per cent in Week 28, and increasing to 12.4 per cent in Week 29.

Fever FM has been seeing quite a few ups and downs in the past few weeks. The station had a market share of 11.3 per cent in Week 29. In Week 26, the FM player’s market share stood at 14.6 per cent, which increased to 15 per cent in Week 27, but dropped to 12.7 per cent in Week 28.

AIR FM 1 Rainbow’s market share for Week 29 was at 10.3 per cent. The station had a share of 11.6 per cent in Week 26, which went up to 11.9 per cent in Week 27 and further rose to 11.5 per cent in Week 28.

Radio One remained constant at 9.2 per cent market share in Weeks 26 and 27. The station’s share increased to 10.6 per cent in Week 28, but dropped to 9.4 per cent in Week 29.

Red FM’s market share stood at 8.2 per cent in Week 26, but dropped to 7.9 per cent in Week 27, before returning to 8.2 per cent in Week 28 and going up to 9.1 per cent in Week 29.

AIR FM 1 –Vividh Bharati’s market share stood at 6.6 per cent in Week 29. This was an improvement over the market share of 5.3 per cent in Week 26, and 5.4 per cent in Weeks 27 and 28.

Radio Indigo reported a market share of 2.2 per cent in Weeks 28 and 29. The station’s share in Week 27 was at 2.3 per cent, and 2.1 per cent in Week 26.

Gyan Vani had a market share of 1.5 per cent in Week 29. The station’s share stood at 0.9 per cent in Week 26, which dipped to 0.7 per cent in Week 27, before rising to 1.1 per cent in Week 28.

Akashvani had a market share of 0.3 per cent in Week 29.
