RAM  Rambling: Growth week for Kolkata Stations

TAM Media Research’s radio arm RAM data showed that it was the best week in Kolkata for the top three players. According to the data in the 12-plus category, Radio Mirchi and Friends FM have shown positive growth in ratings. Radio Mirchi has grown by 0.2 per cent and Friends FM has grown by 0.3 per cent. BIG FM, Red FM, Fever FM and Power FM have remained constant in their growth. Radio One, Akashvani and AIR FM 2 Gold have grown by 0.1 per cent.

Aamar FM and Vivid Bharti have shown negative growth of 0.1 per cent. Oye and AIR FM 1 Rainbow showed 0.4 per cent decline in growth in the Kolkata market.

In the Mumbai market, Radio Mirchi continues to decline. It has witnessed a negative growth of 0.2 per cent. Radio City on the other hand has emerged as the number 2 player with a 0.2 per cent growth. AIRFM 2 Gold and Akashvani have grown by 0.1 per cent. Radio One grew by 0.3 per cent. Fever FM, Big FM, AIR FM 1 Rainbow and Oye FM have remained constant. Red FM has declined by 0.1 per cent while Vivid Bharti declined by 0.4 per cent.

In the Delhi market only few stations have witnessed positive growth. AIR FM 2 Gold showed positive growth by 0.1 per cent. Oye FM grew by 0.3 per cent and AIR FM 1 Rainbow by 0.4 per cent. Radio City, Big FM and Fever have shown constant growth. Radio One has shown negative growth of 0.2 per cent, Hit by 0.1 per cent and Akashvani declined by 0.3 per cent.

In Bangalore the top two radio stations Big FM and Radio Mirchi showed negative growth of 0.1 and 0.2 per cent. Fever FM, AIR FM I Vivid Bharti, Red FM and Akashvani showed positive growth in numbers. Fever FM and Akashvani has grown by 0.1 per cent where as AIR FM I Vivid Bharati few by 0.8 per cent. Radio City, Radio Indigo, Radio One, and Gyan Vani showed negative decline in growth. Radio City dipped by 0.3 per cent, Radio One by 0.4 per cent, Radio Indigo by 0.1 per cent and Gyan Vani by 0.3 per cent.
