Radio Misty, the FM station operating in North Bengal and Sikkim, has revamped its FM station in Gangtok. The changes were made based on the feedbacks received from the listeners. Post the revamp, new shows have been introduced in Sikkim.
Radio Misty has also launched a 360 degree campaign to create buzz around the revamp. The change is aimed to bring a fresh sound to station. The marketing budget for this campaign is pegged at around Rs 7 lakh. Last month, Radio Misty had revamped its Siliguri station.
In conversation with exchange4media, Nishant Mittal, CEO, Radio Misty, said, “We look forward for more interactive shows and plan new things on radio. We aim at holding regular meetings with listeners, and on basis of their feedback and advice, we will make the necessary changes. We are also looking forward to the Phase III rollout.”
Radio Misty claims to be the only FM station in Sikkim which is on air for 24 hours. The FM station has introduced a new show ‘Misty Mehfil’ on Sunday from 7 pm to 10 pm, which airs a blend of old and new hits. Apart from this, ‘Heart Beats’ on Sunday from 4 pm to 7 pm is a blend of international music. Radio Misty has also started an hour-long show titled ‘Shaam-e-Ghazal’. These shows apart, Radio Misty has partnered with BBC and Radio Netherlands Worldwide and their shows are seen to be an added advantage for the FM player.
While the expectations of the FM Phase III rollout are huge, it is also expected that bigger issues like music royalty will be sorted soon. At the same time, Radio Misty is looking forward to bidding or expanding in the North Eastern part of India as well as in West Bengal.
