Radio Mirchi calls for entries for fifth Mirchi KAAN Awards

Radio Mirchi has called for entries for the fifth ‘Mirchi KAAN Awards’ from the creative fraternity and advertising agencies. The last date for receiving entries is February 22, 2008. All radio spots aired between January 1, 2007 and January 31, 2008 are eligible for entry.

Speaking on the Mirchi KAAN Awards, Prashant Panday, CEO, Entertainment Network (India) Ltd (ENIL), said, “We are delighted that the Mirchi KAAN Awards has now stepped into its 5th year. When we started five years ago, the radio industry was just getting started. Today, we have over 270 radio stations across the country. Radio is on a fast growth trajectory and is an integral part of any brand’s communication plan. We believe that great creative output is one of the key drivers of the growth of the industry.”

“This year, the theme for the Mirchi KAAN Awards is ‘March against Mediocrity’. We want truly outstanding creative work to be awarded at the KAAN Awards. We have been extremely fortunate in having a distinguished jury panel for all the five years. The jury has set very high standards for itself over the years and we look forward to them raising the bar this year,” Panday further said.

The distinguished jury panel for this year’s Awards include Prasoon Joshi, Piyush Pandey, R Balakrishnan, Ravi Deshpande, Mohammed Khan, KS Chakravarthi, Agnello Dias, KV Sridhar, Rajat Dholakia, Ram Sampath, Priti Nair, Rekha Nigam, Bobby Pawar, Shantanu Moitra, Ramanuj Shastry, Ashish Khazanchi, Gullu Sen, Prahlad Kakkar, Pradeep Sarkar, Josy Paul, Suguna Swami, Senthil Kumar, Sunil Thoppil, Deepa Krishnan and Ramesh Ramanathan.

The KAAN Awards will be awarded in Gold, Silver and Bronze, and will be spread across 20 different categories. Radio Mirchi will sponsor two radio creative hotshots below the age of 30 for an all expenses paid trip to the Cannes Lions 2008 from the agency that wins the Crystal Award.
