Radio Mirchi’s popular RJ Hunt is back from today

For all those with the gift of the gab and a good ear for music, Radio Mirchi is on the lookout for RJs. The station is kicking off the first round of auditions in the Capital from February 9.

The four-week long activity will give youngsters an opportunity to demonstrate their communication skills in return for a lifetime possibility of becoming a radio jockey with Radio Mirchi.

Elaborating on the RJ hunt, Kanwarbir Singh, Vice-President, Station Head, Radio Mirchi Delhi, said, “An obvious and sudden surge to hunt for zany and wacky radio jockeys is definitely the need of the hour. This is also a property that we would be building year on year.”

The FM station, which is primarily targeting college students and young executives in the 18-30 age group, is conducting this activity on the basis of three rounds – hype round, audition round, and a detailed audition round. Besides, there will be listeners’ choice awards, too.

The final round will shortlist five contestants and one lucky Hutch user will be a wild card candidate. There would be one final winner who would get absorbed by Radio Mirchi, informed Singh.

When quizzed about the traits that Radio Mirchi would be looking at while making the selection, Singh said, “The main feature is the overall personality of the person. RJ is a person who has a zest for life, a certain spunk and attitude.”

The first round of auditions begin in the Capital from February 9 and will continue till February 15. The station has selected Ansal’s Plaza, Khel Gaon Marg; DLF City Centre, Gurgaon; City Square Mall, Rajouri Garden; Barista Community Centre, Saket; Hutch Shop 92; and Navyug market, Ghaziabad as the key areas for conducting the auditions, informed Singh.

Radio Mirchi has adopted a multimedia approach to promote this activity. The station is laying stress on print medium, POS and outdoors as some of the marketing vehicles for the hunt.
