Radio Mantra on air in Jalandhar

Radio Mantra is slowly and steadily making its foray in different cities. Close on the heels of launching its stations in Karnal and Bareilly, the radio venture of the Jagran Group is now looking at Jalandhar. The radio station has been on air in the city since April 13 this year. The commercial launch will follow shortly.

Rahul Gupta, Director, Radio Mantra, said, “We are riding high on three successful launches in the last month and have proven our newly developed radio expertise. Jalandhar is a market which is of strategic importance to Radio Mantra, as well to the as the Jagran Group. Radio Mantra’s launch in Jalandhar illustrates the group’s commitment to the city and to the state of Punjab. No stone has been left unturned in gearing up for this launch and a lot of hard work has gone into getting everything right. At Radio Mantra, we are proud to present to the people of Jalandhar, a station which would be high on quality entertainment. We are confident that like Dainik Jagran, the station too would quickly establish its dominance in the market with both the listeners and advertising community.”

Besides having a signature tune, Radio Mantra has also attempted to have local jingles in every city that the station has entered so far. This time around too, Shaleen Sharma from Agosh has created the jingles, while the vocals have been lent by Mahalaxmi Iyer and Krishna.

While sharing details about the programming mix, Kanwar Sameer, Programming Head, Radio Mantra, said, “It’s a different market altogether and we plan to keep our on-air content very relevant to the market. Both music and talk by RJs would carry a local feel and flavour that would definitely be in sync with the people of Jalandhar — absolutely peppy, crisp and full of enthusiasm. This will surely help us connect with our listeners better.”

The radio station has already started print campaigns for test runs. However, once the formal launch takes place, it will be supported with other print campaigns, BTL activities and other outdoor activities.
