Radio City MQ completes Bangalore round; BizTruss, Wipro crowned winners

Radio City MQ, a corporate music quiz, has completed the first of its three-city contest. Teams from BizTruss Integrated Services and Wipro Technologies were declared as the Bangalore regional winners. Bangalore’s regional ‘Radio City MQ’ was hosted by quiz master and radio personality Brian Tellis, along with ‘The Radio City Breakfast Show’ RJ Vasanthi Hariprakash.

The other partners of the event are Kingfisher Airlines as premium airline partner; Pierre Cardin Swiss as official time partner; Gibson Guitars, Gas, Ray Ban, Toshiba and Z-Bac Adventure as prize partners, and exchange4media.com and Impact as trade partners.

Beating over 150 teams from more than 75 of Bangalore’s top corporates, Sanjay Das, Director-Strategic Marketing, and Ipsa Pattanayak, Senior Recruiter, both from BizTruss Integrated Services, were declared winners of the Bangalore regional finals of ‘Radio City MQ’. Software Engineers Prashant Nandakumar and Karan Rath from Wipro Technologies were the first runners-up.

The regional finals began after an initial round of written eliminations, with four top scoring teams -- Cricinfo, Wipro Technologies, Contract Advertising and BizTruss -- beating teams from corporates like Infosys, Lenovo, Accenture, Yahoo!, Axis Bank, Madura Garments and GroupM, among others, to battle for the top spot on ‘Radio City MQ’.

National Head-Marketing, Radio City, said, “We’re overwhelmed at the entries that just kept pouring in and the unbeatable enthusiasm of Bangalore’s corporate ‘Radio Cityzens’. Kudos to their infectious competitive team spirit, the first regional final of ‘Radio City MQ’ has been a resounding success.”

With Bangalore settled to gun for the national title, the action on ‘Radio City MQ’ now moves to Delhi, with the regional finals on October 5, followed by the Mumbai regional finals on October 12. The two top scoring teams from Bangalore would be joined by the winning teams from Delhi for the grande finale slated for October 12.

The Bangalore regional finals comprised six interactive rounds based on Radio City’s programme schedule; including an audio quiz section, a round on nine artistes, a female artistes special, a buzzer round, an audio-visual round on English music and a ‘Whatte Fun Karaoke Round’. The surprise package of the evening was the ‘Joker Round’ hosted by RJ Vasanthi. Supporters of the four participating teams were called on stage from the audience for a quick rapid fire round. Contract Advertising’s supporting team took the top honours at the ‘Joker Round’, winning a group outdoor adventure package from Z-Bac Adventures.
