Radio bids adieu to 2012 with melodious recaps

As the year comes to an end, radio industry creates special plans to bid adieu to it. While broadcasters will treat listeners who celebrate a quiet New Year’s Eve at home with the best of melodies, they are also giving away passes to happening events. 

Radio stations will spread the New Year flavour through various contests, recaps and celeb talk. The main aim of the entire content format is to recap the year for the listeners in as entertaining manner as they can.

Big FM plans to tickle listeners’ funny bone on the last day of the year. The network has associated with popular stand-up comedians Bharti Singh, VIP and Dr Sanket Bhonsale, who will take listeners on a laughter-inducing recap of the year gone by. The ‘Sabse Happy New Year’ campaign kicked off on December 26, 2012 and airs at regular intervals throughout the day across 31 HSMs.

Radio Mirchi Mumbai will rewind the year for his listeners by playing top 100 songs of 2012 on the day. Radio Mirchi Bangalore is helping listeners celebrate a safe and joyous New Year’s Eve. The station is giving away free party passes with pick-up and drop facilities to lucky listeners.

Red FM Bangalore initiated ‘Listener becomes celebrity’ on its show Superhit music show hosted by RJ Julius Sharma to end the year for its listeners royally. The lucky winners will receive passes to lavish parties. Not only this, Red FM will ensure that the winners reach the venue in style. The radio station has arranged the latest luxurious car to pick and drop them.

Radio City Bangalore is celebrating the year by connecting listeners to their favourite superstars. RJs will connect with different stars and speak to them about the year that was. The station will connect to 13 celebrities in all and create a playlist in sync with the content.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
