Radio advertising to get a boost with the 1st Annual exchange4media Radio Advertising Awards on Oct 07

While there are quite a few awards to recognise print and TV advertising work, not enough recognition has been given to work done in the field of radio advertising. Keeping this in mind, the exchange4media Radio Advertising Awards (ERAA) have been set up. The 1st Annual ERAA is being held in Mumbai on October 7, 2010. The work done should be for the period July 2009 and June 2010. Last date for receiving entries is September 20, 2010.

The jury members include Lynn de Souza, Chairman & CEO Lintas Media Group; Agnello Dias Co-Founder & CCO, Taproot India; Sandip Tarkas President – Customer Strategy, Future Group, India; and Anupam Vasudev EVP – Marketing & Communications, STAR India Pvt Ltd.

There are 22 categories of the exchange4media Radio Advertising Awards.

Media categories and Creative categories, Broadcaster categories and Excellence awards. There are twenty two categories.

The media category includes Best Brand Integration on Radio – Corporate/ Retail, Best Radio Media Innovation – Corporate/ Retail, Best Unique Use of Multiple Stations, Best Use of Radio in a Media Plan – Corporate/ Retail, Best Use of Radio in a Media Plan – Retail, Best On Ground Activation for a Client – Corporate, Best On Ground Activation for a Client – Retail.

The creative category includes Best Radio Creative – Telecom Services/ Retail, Best Radio Creative – Media (all media and related products & services)/ products, Best Radio Creative – Services (excl telecom, retail and media) and Best Use of Craft in Radio.

The broadcaster category includes Best CSR Initiative and Best Client Sponsored On Ground Activation done by a Radio station for self. In the Excellence Awards category there are Radio Media Agency of the Year, Campaign of the Year – Corporate, Campaign of the year – Retail, Radio Advertiser of the Year.

Jury Comments:

Speaking on the Awards, jury member Agnello Dias said, “There are only special print and TV awards. There is lack of encouragement for the radio fraternity. I am happy that exchange4media took this initiative to have the first of its kind Awards for the radio industry. I feel these kind of awards will encourage the radio industry.”

According to Sandip Tarkas, another jury member, “Radio is one of the fastest mediums, and these Awards will give an idea of what will work on radio and what will not. It is a great initiative taken by the exchange4media Group.”
