NEW Radio City says ‘Vanakkam’ to Chennai from today

Music Broadcast Pvt Ltd (MBPL) has launched its sixth FM radio station in the country – Radio City 105.8 FM – in Chennai from July 10. The station was inaugurated by South superstar Surya.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City, said, “We are thrilled and proud to launch our station in Chennai. Our research helped us understand the minds of the Chennai listeners and confirmed that Chennai will love Radio City’s music and intellectually stimulating programming content. Chennai is an extremely important market for us and we are eagerly looking forward to engage with our listeners. Our music expertise, innovative programming line-up, and our brand promise of ‘Namma City Namma Life’, will stir listeners to indulge in their kind of music. We hope the success we have enjoyed with listeners, who have made Radio City an integral part of their lives in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and in Hyderabad where we launched recently, would be duplicated here in Chennai as well.”

The launch of Radio City in Chennai is supported by a 360-degree marketing campaign. Some of the off-air initiatives to connect with listeners include road shows, Radio City booths at malls and multiplexes, on-ground contests and events.

Radio City Chennai’s programming is an outcome of an extensive and in-depth research undertaken by industry experts. This has resulted in a host of customised Tamil, English and Hindi programmes reflecting the true sound of Chennai. Radio City 105.8 FM will cater to the tastes of discerning music lovers cutting across a diverse population of students, housewives, working men, which will ultimately give advertisers great value for their money spent.

The research findings have helped Radio City provide listeners with a whole lot of programmes designed to entertain Chennai. With shows like ‘Namma City Special’, ‘Balbaje Shikrika Bilba’, ‘Chennai Chat’, ‘Idiya Trivindia’, and ‘Iyugul Olividili’, especially developed for Chennai, the programming mix of Radio City 105.8 FM includes shades of romance, comedy and fantasy.

As a prelude to the launch, Radio City had organised an RJ Hunt in Chennai.
