My FM engages with music lovers with 3rd edition of My Music Marathon

My FM executed the third edition of My Music Marathon across 15 cities on June 21, 2014. This year the spotlight was on the classical rare musical instruments and rare instrument players were invited to play and were honoured at the event.

Commenting on this initiative, Harrish M Bhatia, CEO, My FM said, “I am overwhelmed by the response that we have received for this year’s My Music Marathon. Buoyed by our success of the last two editions, we wanted to deliver a bigger and a better engagement platform and invite artists who play classical rare instruments so that they can showcase their talent to the masses. I want to thank the artists who performed at the event across cities and also our listeners who have year on year participated wholeheartedly and made MY Music Marathon a great success.”

Elaborating on the initiative, Viplove Gupta, National Programming Head, My FM said, “My Music Marathon is our own IP. We conceived this property three ago and we entered with a bang into the Limca Book of Records with a live concert of 12 hours at a mall, where the singers from the city sang and entertained the audience. Last year, we improved our record and attempted 14-hour long concert and the response we got was mind boggling as we had people coming in at 6 am in the morning to perform while our finale arrangements for the stage and sound set up were being tested. The premise of this property is an amalgamation of city pride, talent platform and the biggest thrill of performing in front of a live audience.”

According to a My FM release, more than 4 lakh people witnessed and close to 1 lakh people participated in activations across 15 cities. The event saw several celebrities and bureaucrats in attendance, including Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Ravindra Upadhyay, Ali Brothers, Sharan Deol, Rapperiya Balam, and Mayor of Jaipur Jyoti Khandelwal, among others.
