Who is your favourite RJ?
My favourite RJ is Sarthak from Hit FM. He hosts the morning show ‘Hit Morning’.
What do you like about RJ Sarthak?
I like his wit and the width of music know-how he has.
When do you tune into radio the most?
I tune into radio the most in the mornings, on my way to office.
With increasing commercial pressure, do you think RJs these days manage to keep their content objective?
Some RJs do, to an extent. It’s critical to remember that audio works at many levels – what’s being heard is easily filtered out by a distracted mind. So, honestly, the programming line-up will always be more appreciated than commercial content. How commerce is then weaved-in, is another story.
Who, according to you, from the media fraternity can make a good RJ?
Two people according to me can be great RJs. First is Samit Sinha, Managing Partner, Alchemist Brand Consulting and second, Sambit Mohanty, ECD, McCann. Both these personalities have different tastes in music. Sinha likes more of rock music and tracks from 60s and 70s, and Mohanty is more of a contemporary music person. They can be awesome RJs; they are just waiting to be discovered.
