Muthoot Group to launch FM channel in Chennai in January

South India has been witnessing heightened FM activity of late. The latest to join the bandwagon is the Muthoot Group, which will be launching its FM station in Chennai in January. The Group had won a license for Chennai in the second phase of FM expansion.

When asked about the TG and content formation, a Group spokesperson said, “It is too early to comment on that as research is underway. We would come up with a bouquet of surprises and suspense when we become operational.”

The Muthoot Group was set up in 1939 and was primarily into groceries and retailing. Over the last six and a half decades, the Group has established a visible presence in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra, with a stronghold in rural and semi-urban areas and a range of inventive and customised solutions.

The Group has forayed into banking and finance (offering investment advisory services and financial solutions that meet the lifetime needs of customers), hospitality (Sky Chef, hotels/restaurants and resorts), automobile (dealership), ceramics, power generation, etc. in the last few years.

The Group had recently roped in cricketer Sreesanth as its brand ambassador.
