It’s Birthday time for Radio Mirchi

Radio Mirchi is celebrating. Where the weekend marks a special anniversary for Pune, marking two years of its presence there, May 2, 2004 also means the completion of a year in Kolkata. The station has put together programming to ensure that listeners equally participate in the celebrations.

For Pune the party has begun today itself. The programming from 6.00 am onwards, showcases famous Pune personalities like Bollywood stars, Sonali Kulkarni, Rakesh Bhapat and Sameer Dharmadhikari. Joining these in the radio jockeying will also be theater artists like Prashant Damble and TV star Mrinal Kulkarni. Adding more to the Mirchi list would be an all night long special.

The celebration will spill on to May 2, 2004, which airs My 93.9 special, where Punekars could request for two songs of their choice. Titled as Mirchi Pe Mirchi Mayhem, the show continues from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm. Added to the occasion, Mirchi plans to launch new shows featuring new VJs soon.

Radio Mirchi, Kolkata will be celebrating its anniversary on May 2, 2004. Here Radio Mirchi goes more on ground with a cake party at the Nicco Park Bowlers’ Den lawns planned for May 3, 2004. Guests at the party include Radio Mirchi listeners who have won an invitation to the birthday bash by participating in a contest on 98.3 FM.

Mirchi has also invited a group of children from a CRY supported project. The young guests join in the party and special arrangements for them to participate in various games and activities is also made. Kolkata celebrities like Bikram Ghosh, June Malia, Koneenica Banerjee and Sreelekha Mitra. The party will continue with some of the top Bangla bands of the city belting out their most popular numbers. The Mirchi No.1 celebrations have already begun on 98.3 FM with a variety of Radio Mirchi on-air specials and contests.
