India Radio Forum 2007 to honour excellence in radio, calls for entries

Radio has been in the limelight for the past couple of years in the country. Along with Mirchi Kaan Awards, now India Radio Forum 2007, too, is calling for entries for their radio awards, which will honour excellence in different categories. The Forum will also play host to various seminars and expert speaker sessions during the event. The last date for submission of entries is April 10, 2007.

The awards will be given in the categories of promotion and marketing. This year, three new categories – programming, talent and station – have been added. Winners in these three categories would be awarded with the specially created Indian Excellence in Radio Awards, which aim to be the benchmark quality by which radio professionals, consumers and advertisers will reward and recognise quality, originality and overall excellence.

The numerous awards in the programming category include Best Programmes or Shows in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada and English, along with awards for the Most Innovative Show, Best Interactive Idea and Best Community Service.

Under the talent category, awards would be given to the Best RJ of the Year in each language. The Forum has also constituted an award in the station category, wherein the Best New Launch and Station of the Year would be rewarded.

Continuing with last year’s categories of promotion and marketing, awards would be declared for recognising the Best Radio Promo In-House in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, English, Telugu and Kannada languages. Other category awards include Best Music-based Promo - Single Spot, Best Use of Advertising and Best Cross-Platform Communication Campaign.
