Hello FM whips up some more IPL frenzy with game show

Dhoni and his Chennai Super Kings have been delighting cricket fans with their on-ground fireworks. And now adding to the merry-making is Hello FM, Malar Publications’ FM venture, which has launched ‘Solli Addi’, an on-air cricket carnival which promises to be a thrilling entertainer for both listeners and cricket fans in Chennai.

‘Solli Addi’, which would be aired during the 14 Chennai Super Kings matches during the ongoing DLF IPL Tournament, is essentially a game show that revolves around cricket with interesting questions pertinent to the IPL teams and Indian cricket.

The game show would be hosted by RJ Suresh and team, who would put forth a range of questions on IPL and the callers who give the right answers can win a cash price of Rs 1,064. The programme is a brain game that plays on intuition and predictions of total runs per over with a cash price of Rs 1,000 for each over (a total of 40 overs in both the innings). The callers who predict the exact runs scored in each over would win the cash prize for the respective over and progress to the next round. However, if the caller fails to predict the right number of runs, he/she would be out of the game at the end of the over and new participants can then enter the game show for the next over.

An added attraction at ‘Solli Addi’ would be an SMS contest for the nearest prediction of the final score of the match, with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 per innings.

Commenting on the launch of ‘Soli Addi’, Rajeev Nambiar, CEO, Hello FM, said, “With the IPL frenzy reaching out and impacting the lives of millions of Indians, we figured it apt to participate in the cricket revolution with a new angle of livewire entertainment drawing maximum audience involvement into the game, unlike the stale updates of the matches. As a thought leader in the FM space, Hello FM boasts of a range of innovative programmes custom-made to capture audience interest, especially during live realty events like IPL.”
