FM stations create the right noises to ring in the New Year

With the New Year just round the corner, FM radio stations are busy creating or re-mixing their content especially for the year-end shows. exchange4media takes a look at the various shows planned by different FM stations to ring in the New Year.

Radio Mirchi has lined up shows like ‘Mirchi Top 100’, ‘6-7 Mirchi ke Saath’, predictions for 2007 by astrologer Marjorie Orr. And to top it all, they will have a DJ playing non-stop dance tracks from 9 pm to 9 am through the New Year night.

Not to be left behind, Red FM, too, has several offerings up its sleeves. Starting with ‘Redio Greetings’, where the FM channel has celebrities wishing their listeners for the New Year, the channel will also air a programme on the major happenings of the year gone by.

Radio City will be continuing their property Musical-E-Azam - Naya Andaaz through the New Year. So far, they haven’t mentioned any specific plans.

Big FM is also planning to strike it big with their latest property ‘Sone Ki Baarish’, which gives listeners one last chance to win gold on December 31. The station is also planning to have a party for their listeners, where RJs will select their favourite fans and send out invitations to them.

With TV channels too vying for a share of the audience’s attention along with the usual revelries planned, Indians sure are spoilt for choice this New Year eve.
