Fever FM and Shell join hands in Bangalore to dole out free petrol

The hike in fuel rates has hit travellers hard. However, for a lucky few Bangalore FM listeners, their petrol problems would be taken care of, albeit for a limited period, thanks to an innovative marketing initiative jointly undertaken by Fever FM and Shell.

Fever FM has come up with a contest for its listeners in Bangalore, wherein the winners could win up to 10.4 litre of petrol from designated Shell petrol pumps during the period August 27 to September 8.

Anjali Paul, Station Head-Bangalore, Fever FM, said, “We are pleased to host this promotion for our listeners. The thought driving this contest was to showcase Bangalore through our on-air content. We also wanted to customise this promotion to suit our client’s requirement and yet keep it simple and relevant to our listeners. It is our endeavour to use every opportunity to live our brand philosophy of offering a memorable radio listening experience, and hence, positively impact the lives of listeners.”

The entire concept is rooted in ‘Discovering Bangalore’, where each morning the RJ gives out clues for the venue from 8:00 am on the breakfast show. For instance, which place in Bangalore was earlier known as Grant Road? If the listener knows the answer, the person can call on 080-44104104 and leave the answer. The FM station would then SMS a password to the caller. The lucky caller then needs to go and show the SMS with the password at the designated Shell petrol pump and avail up to 10.4 litre of free petrol between 10:00 am and 11:00 am only.

Fever FM RJs promote the contest throughout the day and also play on-air games to send out passwords for the next day’s petrol giveaways.
