Excitement in the airwaves: Industry honchos give two thumbs up to exchange4media Radio Advertising Awards

Industry leaders have wholeheartedly welcomed the exchange4media Radio Advertising Awards (ERAA). The 1st Annual ERAA is being held in Mumbai on October 7, 2010, and will recognise the best work done between July 2009 and June 2010. Last date for receiving entries is September 20, 2010. Awards would be given in 22 categories.

‘It’s a great initiative on radio awards’

Speaking on the Awards, Prashant Panday, CEO, ENIL (Radio Mirchi), said, “It’s good that exchange4media is also launching an award to recognise radio creatives. Every award honours and motivates the creator of good creatives, and this award, along with the Mirchi Kaan Awards that we are doing for the 7th year this year, will go a long way in building the radio category.”

Soumen Choudhury, Business Head, Big FM, too, said, “The exchange4media Radio Advertising Awards is an excellent platform to recognise the power of radio. Currently in its nascent stage, the radio industry has earned its space in the media pie and is poised for exponential growth. We are happy to have credible industry forums coming forward to recognise and acknowledge this medium and its offerings.”

Nisha Narayanan, Senior VP, Projects and Programming, Red FM, also felt that ERAA was a great initiative on radio awards. She noted, “We have come a long way in the radio industry. A lot of clients, agencies and radio channels are participating in these awards. I wish exchange4media all the best for these Awards and we are looking forward to the Awards.”

On similar lines, Harish Bhatia, COO, My FM, said, “I would say it’s a good initiative by exchange4media, which is known for its transparency and credibility. I am sure these Awards will recognise the talent in the industry. But, I feel the Awards should be classified into metros and non-metros categories.”

“exchange4media has always been into leading events. Only the radio advertising category was left out. I am looking forward to the exchange4media Radio Advertising Awards,” said Monica Nayyar Patnaik, Joint Managing Director, Eastern Media Ltd.

According to Sunil Kumar, Managing Director, Big River Radio, “There was a need for independent awards for standalone excellence in radio advertising, which is being fulfilled by the ERAA. These Awards will definitely promote effectiveness in radio advertising. The creativity will deliver results to clients, brands, and eventually to the radio industry.”

Vineet Singh, CEO, Radio One, opined, “I think these are the first most credible awards done by independent media house. There’s a huge gap in this area and exchange4media is filling this gap. All categories are there in the Awards. All media planners, clients and creative agencies are all there on the same platform.”
