Big FM Kolkata extends Mojar Adda concept with a new contest

Big FM Kolkata has introduced the ‘Mojar Adda’ format, which would have shows and activities around the concept of ‘adda’ – an essentially Bengali concept involving group discussions on varied topics – that would include both on-air and on-ground activities. As part of these activities, the FM station has kicked off the Para Addabaj contest to further strengthen its local connect.

As part of this contest, Big FM will arrange for ‘addas’ amongst various housing societies in Kolkata and the winning group would will be honoured with the ‘King of all Addas’ crown.

Rohit Dhar, Regional Director, Big FM, said “We are very excited with the RAM numbers. Introducing the ‘Mojar Adda’ station positioning in Kolkata has helped us stand out in a cluttered environment, delivering entertainment which is best in class and relevant to our listeners in Kolkata, and offering a superior communication platform for our advertisers and the marketing community. It will also fulfill a strong need of listeners – which has been proven through research. The content will be engrossing and entertaining, given that it is what the listener wants.”

Ramita Chaudhari, Station Director, Big FM Kolkata, added, “Our findings indicate Kolkata’s need for a station with local connect, which cuts across age groups, especially appealing to the 20-29 age group. Our offering will be a sure hit among our target audience.”

Earlier in April this year, Mojar Adda was organised during the IPL matches as part of the breakfast slot ‘Big Chumuk’ to create a connect with cricket lovers in Kolkata.
