Aamir Khan takes SMJ to radio

In a move to create greater audience connect, Aamir Khan has taken to the radio medium for his popular show ‘Satyamev Jayate’. The actor did a two-hour long special show on Big FM, which was aired on June 30, 2012 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Aamir did the show along with Big FM’s RJ Ankit.

Speaking to exchange4media, Rabe T Iyer, Business Head, Big FM said, “Aamir is well known in the circles as an ace marketer, but while doing a show such as ‘Satyamev Jayate’, it was also important for him to get feedback from across the length and breadth of this country. With our presence spanning across 45 cities, 1,000 towns and 50,000 villages and a weekly reach of over four crore Indians, especially from tier II and tier III cities, going live on our station was a natural choice.”

Aamir added here, “I am very happy to have this opportunity on Big FM to connect with my audiences. With ‘Satyamev Jayate’, our endeavour has been to address key issues plaguing the nation, the show today has gone a long way in helping us get firsthand feedback about the show, how it has impacted us and how the show can play a catalyst in bringing about the much required change in our society.”

Meanwhile, Big FM has entered into a content partnership with Star TV for this special segment. The radio station is promoting this segment heavily on radio as well as digital mediums. It claims to have 200,000 fans on its Facebook fan page. Along with going live on radio, Aamir also tweeted about the show, which garnered high response.
