Stage is set for the India PR & Corporate Communications Summit 2010. An initiative of the exchange4media Group, the Summit is presented by Adfactors Public Relations and will be held in Delhi on May 21. With six hard hitting panel sessions and four keynotes, the Summit will cover a wide gamut of issues, threats and thoughts related to the PR industry.
The Summit will be inaugurated by veteran journalist and Business Standard Editor Dr Sanjaya Baru, whose unmatched experience as a media personality and being media advisor to the Prime Minister of India will have far reaching impact on the audience.
Industry stalwarts like Dilip Cherian, Rajiv Desai, Ashwani Singla, Abhijit Sarkar and Thomas Crampton will be the keynote speakers at the Summit.
The Summit will feature quite a few sessions that will address various issues pertaining to the PR industry. The session on ‘Reputation Management – The Future is Digital’ will deal with how effectively the digital space can be utilised for positive impact. Domain experts like Jaideep Shergill, Mahesh Murthy, Gaurav Mishra and Rajesh Lalwani will delve extensively on the topic. N Madhavan will moderate this session.
It is said that any form of publicity is good, but do the practitioners of PR truly subscribe to the thought? The session on ‘Controversy – The Best Form of Publicity?’ will seek to answer this question. Anshul Chaturvedi will moderate this session that will have among its panelists the likes of Radhika Shapoorjee and Yusuf Hatia from the agency side, Abhinav Kaul from corporate communications and marketer Dev Amritesh.
The PR industry is still grappling with effective measurement for campaigns. ‘Growth Driver for PR Industry – Measuring PR Effectiveness’ will highlight scientific approach to measurement and its impact on the industry. PR industry veteran Madan Bahal will cover extensively the aspect on growth drivers while Siddhartha Mukherjee will represent the scientific approach on measurement. The other panel members include Vivek Sengupta and Shubhodip Pal. Ujjal Chowdhury will be the session moderator.
The art of story-telling and the role of media buying houses will be discussed threadbare in the session ‘Media Agencies – Shortcut for PR?’, where panelists will ponder on the merits of taking the help of media buying houses for editorial content. Veena Gidwani will highlight the merits of story telling, along with Samir Kale, while Amit Tiwari and Neeraj Sanan will bring about the media aspects. Satyajit Sen will moderate the session.
The last two panel discussions will focus on how marketing and PR go in sync and trends – both domestic and international – in PR. The session on ‘Suave Marketing = Smart PR’ will focus on the role of PR in marketing. The panelists include Anshu Khanna, Shivnath Thukral, and Archana Jain. Shruti Verma Singh is the session moderator.
Corporate communications plays a pivotal role in the success of a company and comes under the scanner in the final session of the day that will see among its panelists industry stalwarts like Irfan Khan and Senjam Raj Shekhar.
